Extension of Period of Stay

For foreign nationals that wish to continue their current activity and extend their visa.

Extension of period of stay

1. At the time of application, the foreign national will be applying for the same status of residence
2. The status of residence currently held is one of the 27 mentioned previously, and it was not illegally obtained
3. There is a valid reason for the period of stay to be extended.

The paperwork needed for the application

1. A completed extension of period of stay application, along with all necessary supporting documentation
2. Place to submit: the Immigration Bureau in the area you are currently living
3. Processing time: 2 weeks to 3 months
