Permanent Resident Status
To receive permanent resident status, the foreign national must have been living in Japan for a very long time. If this status is granted, it does not need to be renewed. This will change the current status the foreign national has to permanent resident.
The determining factors are:
- The applicant has good behavior
- The applicant has a way to earn a living in Japan
- The applicant will contribute to Japan in a positive way
